Stjepan Mesic: Baku perfectly organized Artistic Gymnastics World Cup

The FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup is perfectly organized, the former President of Croatia, Stjepan Mesic, who participated in the awarding ceremony, said in an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza.

"I liked the way everything was organized, including the ceremony. Azerbaijan is a world champion in such things," he said.

Also, the former head of the Croatian state said he saw the hall dedicated to only one sport, only gymnastics for the first time in his life. "I would like to congratulate all those who decided to build this arena, all those who participated in the construction. They did a wonderful job," he said.

Also, the ex-president drew attention to the fact that he first saw such competitions. “I was pleasantly surprised at how great they look. Congratulations on the excellent organization,” he said.

In addition, Mesic said that in his youth, when he studied at the gymnasium, he did gymnastics. "I have always been a fan of gymnastics. But at this age everything is different," he said, adding that before the political career, he was mainly involved in handball.

The FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup is being held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku and brings together the strongest gymnasts from 41 countries.

The competition is important for athletes who want to get to the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 2020.
