Turkish leadership states its position on Libya

Turkish President Abdullah Gul said that the Libyan government must resign but added that  "they should not allow third countries to destroy their country," TRT reports.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during the  negotiations with U.S. President Barack Obama clearly stated the position of Turkey on this issue, stressing that Turkey will not send weapons  to the Libyan people .

Turkey will take part in securing the arms embargo as a part of the naval forces of NATO, sending to the region 4 frigates, one submarine and support vessel. An appropriate decision will come into force following its approval by the Turkish parliament.
