Georgian escort officers handed over British convict Jack Shepherd, convicted of manslaughter by gross negligence, to the British police at the Tbilisi International Airport, the Georgian Special Penitentiary Service reported.

Two days ago, the Minister of Justice of Georgia issued a decree granting the extradition request lodged by the UK for Jack Shepherd.

"The extradition decree is based on the judgment of the Tbilisi City Court issued on March 26, 2019 on the admissibility of extradition of Jack Shepherd to the UK. Shepherd did not appeal to the Supreme Court of Georgia," Agenda.ge cited the Georgian Ministry of Justice as saying.
