Bakhtadze presents Georgian Dream's candidate for MP elections

Georgia's Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has presented doctor Lado Kakhadze as the Georgian Dream ruing party’s candidate who will run in the Mtastsminda district parliamentary by-elections on May 19.

The PM claimed that the ruling party has chosen a "distinguished candidate for a distinguished district."

"Kakhadze is a very worthy candidate. He loves his people and country very much and he has proven this for many years with his activities. For many people, Lado is an example of professionalism," Bakhtadze said, adding that he is eager to play his role in the building of a prosperous and safe Georgia.

"I will fight for this goal," Agenda.ge cited the Georgian PM as saying.

The seat became vacant after the election of Salome Zurabishvili as the fifth president of Georgia.

11 candidates have been registered so far in the district, three of them were presented by political parties: the Georgian Dream, the bloc of Free Democrats-European Georgia and the Girchi party. The remaining eight have been nominated by initiative groups.
