Russia is upgrading its Black Sea forces in the context of NATO’s approaching infrastructures and proportionately to its real defense requirements, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said.

But "all of our efforts are absolutely adequate and proportionate to the real defense security requirements," he stressed.

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said that NATO was now trying to demonize Russia’s military activity on the Black Sea.

But Grushko noted that "by and large nothing has changed." "The Black Sea Fleet has been there for the past 200 years," TASS cited him as saying.

The quality of  Russia's military presence on the Black Sea "has not changed in any way," the diplomat concluded.
