Explosion in Damascus kills person

One person was killed and five others wounded today when an explosion occurred in Syria's capital Damascus, state TV reported.

According to the report, the explosion rocked the Naher Aysheh area south of Damascus. Investigations are underway to determine the causes of the explosion.

 Al-Mayadeen TV reported that the explosion was caused by a bomb planted in a car.
