Report of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and its results
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe report of this year's Field Assessment Mission differs greatly from that of 2005. In this year's report the Co-Chairs not only admit the disastrous consequences of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the precarious conditions that the local population live in, but underline that the status quo is unacceptable, and that only a peaceful settlement can bring the prospect of a better future to the people who live in the region.
The report has also shown that Armenian statements, according to which the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is quite tolerable, are mendacious. The fact that Armenian occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh lead to disastrous consequences is now obvious. Armenian efforts to hide the truth have failed.
In the same time the situation in Armenia itself is very unstable. The country is having some certain economic problems and has no chance to support Nagorno-Karabakh financially. Yerevan definitely has no funds to improve the situation in the region.
All this means that Armenia has to make an agreement with Azerbaijan on Azerbaijani terms.
