Iran abandons Tu-154

Iranian Minister of Transport Hamid Behbahani declared today that the
country will stop using Tu-154 Soviet-produced planes. Russian crews
will no longer work on Iranian airlines.

According to Kommersant, citing CNN, all old Tu-154s in the air-parks
of local air companies will be replaced with new passenger airliners.
The ministry also admitted that Russian crews will be forbidden to
work on Iranian airlines, as Iran has enough pilots of its own.
