The Rustavi City Court has sentenced two citizens of Iran to 16 years in jail for the smuggling and possession of narcotics in especially large quantities into Georgia.

The investigation established that the detainees illegally purchased the drugs and brought them in Georgia by means of hiding them into their body cavities on December 4, 2018.

Law enforcers arrested both of them on the same day in Rustavi. They had been in pretrial detention since the detention, Agenda.ge reported.
