Georgian President and Prime Minister lay flowers at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Tbilisi

The event was attended by President Salome Zurabishvili, Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, members of the government and opposition members.
The head of government stressed that today, on May 9, is a special day in the world history - a day of victory over fascism. “I want to congratulate everyone, especially veterans of the Second World War. Georgia suffered great sacrifices - hundreds of thousands of Georgians fell heroically on the battlefield, I want to bow down before them,” RIA Novosti quotes Bakhtadze as saying.
