Wildfire in Borjomi Gorge extinguished

Up to 150 firefighters, 30 foresters and a border police helicopter have been brought in to extinguish a fire in Georgia's Borjomi Gorge.

According to the Georgian Emergency Management Service, two centres of the fire have been contained.

The fire was spotted on one of the slopes near the village of Sakire late yesterday.

According to preliminary information the fire affected 3.5 hectares territory, Agenda.ge reported.

Police are trying to uncover the reasons behind the fire.
