Fanni Pigniczki: Baku is one of my favorite places for competitions
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe capital of Azerbaijan is one of the best places to host gymnastics competitions, Hungarian gymnast Fanni Pigniczki said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza after the qualification round with hoop and ball routines at the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku.
"I am very pleased with both my performances and the organization here. For me, participating in the European Championships in Baku is a great and important experience," she said in the first place.
"In general, Baku is one of my favorite places of competition. It's my fourth time here, because they have just wonderful conditions for tournaments here," Fanni Pigniczki stressed.
"What is very important, the support of the audience is always excellent. When I entered the arena, I heard the spectators applauding me and shouting my name," the Hungarian gymnast added.
She also noted the good choice of mascot for the European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Baku is hosting the 35th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships at the National Gymnastics Arena. Athletes from 35 countries are taking part in the championships. During the four-day championships, senior female gymnasts will perform in the individual program, while junior gymnasts will participate in the group exercise program. In total, the gymnasts will compete for 8 medal sets.
