Ekaterina Vedeneeva: Baku beautiful both as city and as venue for Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships

"I have been here for a week, I came to the training camp before the European Championships, and, frankly speaking, I didn’t expect that being in Baku is so great - both in terms of the sports organization, and of how beautiful this city is," she said.
"We came from Tashkent and thought that Baku is like Tashkent - but no, it is beautiful! It looks like Dubai, a wonderful flourishing city. We like it here very much," Ekaterina Vedeneeva admitted.
She also thanked the Baku fans for their support. "The support you get here is enormous, both form the fans and the Azerbaijani gymnasts and the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation," the Slovenian gymnast concluded.
Baku is hosting the 35th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships at the National Gymnastics Arena. Athletes from 35 countries are taking part in the championships. During the four-day championships, senior female gymnasts will perform in the individual program, while junior gymnasts will participate in the group exercise program. In total, the gymnasts will compete for 8 medal sets.
