Armenian Education Ministry to improve communication with society

The Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia presented on Tuesday a strategy for improving communication with society in 2011-2015, News Armenia reports.

The main goal is improvement of clarity and accountability of work. This includes studies of social criticism of the work, Education Minister Armen Ashotyan said.

He clarified that they plan to organize a summer school for journalists specialized in the education sphere to allow media to have a better view of the sphere. There are also active plans to host alternate media sources, blogs, social networks and more active communication.

Ashotyan said that they plan to launch a series of TV shows on education.
However, the financial aspect has not been resolved yet, the minister underlined.

The strategy was prepared under UN assistance. The UN coordinator in Armenia Dafin Gerchev noted that the strategy is absolutely new and ambitious in Armenia. It will be part of anti-corruption measures, she noted.
