Speaking about the Brexit-related processes in general, the spokesman noted that they inevitably affect Britain and the situation in the European Union.

Peskov recalled that the European Union is our main trading and economic partner. For this reason "we are naturally interested in a predictable, stable and developing partner," he pointed out.

Speaking about the Kremlin’s attitude to May’s role in Moscow-London relations, the spokesman said he "cannot recall offhand any landmarks that might somehow illustrate a contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Russia and Britain". "It is rather the other way round," TASS cited him a saying.

Theresa May’s premiership was a "very complicated period in Russia-UK bilateral relations, Peskov added.
