Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaU.S. President Donald Trump said that Washington's sanctions on Pyongyang should remain in place.
Speaking in Tokyo alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Trump said that he is not "personally bothered" by recent short-range missile tests that North Korea conducted this month, but agreed that sanctions should remain in place.
"North Korea has great economic potential, but its leader Kim Jong Un knows it won't be realized if the North presses on with its nuclear weapons program," Trump said.
The U.S. leader also noted that he would work with Abe to bring home Japanese citizens kidnapped by North Korean agents decades ago.
