Azerbaijan approves NATO operation in Libya

The Baku authorities stated their opinion on the resolution of the Security Council of the UN on blocking the air space over Libya, defending the civilian population and stopping violence being committed by Gaddafi's forces, Trend reports.

Azerbaijan approved the resolution. However, an immediate launch of a military operation against Gaddafi by an international coalition, including NATO, is doubtful.

Azerbaijan is dissatisfied with the fact that this resolution was immediately implemented, whereas 4 resolutions on Armenia have not been implemented for 20 years. Baku considers this to be double standards.

However, providing the civilian population of Libya with security is a very important issue. This is exactly the reaction that should be expressed towards thousands of Azerbaijanis killed by Armenians, the Azerbaijani administration believes.
