Iran improves ties with Paraguay

The presidents of Iran and Paraguay, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Fernando Lugo Mendez, spoke for further development of cooperation between the two states, IRNA reports.


The presidents had a telephone conversation where Ahmadinejad noted a new level of ties in all spheres, especially trade and technological exchange.


The president of Paraguay congratulated the Iranian people on Nowruz and expressed devotion to expanding cooperation with Iran.


The International Monetary Fund registered an increase of trade turnover between Iran and the Latin America in 2008.


Brazil is Iran’s leading partner, followed by Argentine.


Peru is the main importer of Iranian products in the region. Iran increase trade turnover with Ecuador and Venezuela as well.


Iran achieved success in trading with Chili, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
