Dust storm sweeps through Uzbekistan

Yesterday, the dust storm broke out  in Nukus, the capital of the autonomy of Karakalpakstan in northwest Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic reports.

According to the representative of the ministry, yesterday, a dust storm was recorded in Nukus with gusty winds up to 23 m / s.

Today, the operational units continue to eliminate the consequences of the storm. "There is no data on the victims and injured,” RIA Novosti quotes the source, noting that, according to Uzhydromet, dust storms are characteristic of the current environmental situation and climate of Karakalpakstan.
