accountant detained in Georgia for stealing more than $814,000
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaLaw enforcers have detained a chief accountant of one of the companies, who, with the use of his post, stole $814,326, according to Georgia's Ministry of Finance.
The ministry reported that the individual had an access to the bank accounts of the company, as he worked as a chief accountant, and he would carry out various, illegal transactions.
"He tried to show that the transactions were for covering of different tax obligations of the company or for paying loans," Agenda.ge cited the ministry as saying.
The detainee faces seven to 11 years in prison.
