Rustavi 2 has no plans to fire Giorgi Gabunia

Georgian TV channel Rustavi 2 will not fire TV anchor Giorgi Gabunia, who cursed Russian President Vladimir Putin on his live show, the channel Director General Nika Gvaramia said.

The broadcaster’s regulation body discussed Gabunia’s words uttered in the beginning of his TV show and suspended him for two months, Agenda.ge reported.

Giorgi Gabunia used offensive language in Russian against Vladimir Putin that was followed by condemnations by Georgian officials and public figures.
