3rd day of XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival kicks off in Baku

The third day of the XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival started in Baku today.

Gymnasts, cyclists, swimmers, athletes and wrestlers will be competing for medals today, games will be also held between the tennis, basketball, volleyball and handball teams.

Qualifying competitions will be held in men's artistic gymnastics today. Azerbaijan is represented by three gymnasts Samad Mammadli, Aghakazim Rustamov, Mansum Safarov.

Athletes will compete for seven sets of medals. Azerbaijan is represented by Alexey Aliakperov, Mamedaga Mamedov, Teymur Salakhzade, Gunel Huseynova, Laman Huseynova, Fakhriya Tagizade.

Azerbaijan is represented by six cyclists: Nofal Nureyev, Nikita Sitov, Mustafa Mukhtarli, Lala Abdurakhmanova, Gulshan Ismayilova and Maleika Iskenderova.

Swimmers are competing for seven sets of medals: men’s 100 m backstroke, women's 100m and 400m freestyle, women's 200m butterfly, 200m breaststroke among men and women, mixed 4x100m freestyle relay.

The XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival is being held in Baku on July 21-27. The festival will be attended by more than 3,900 athletes from 48 European countries. Athletes will compete in ten kinds of sports - gymnastics, athletics, basketball, cycling, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. In total, athletes will compete for 135 sets of medals.
