SOCAR to drill new borehole at Guneshli

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) has started drilling a new borehole in shallow waters of the Guneshli field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, SOCAR said today, Trend reports.

Shallow-water areas produce the most oil and gas.
Drilling will be carried out at the Guneshli-14 platform by the Bail Limany exploration group.
The borehole will be 2,950 meters deep. Daily extraction is expected to reach 150 tons.
Guneshli is controlled by the oil and gas concern “28 May”.
SOCAR is developing the shallow-water part of Guneshli using its own finances. The Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli deep-water part is being realized in cooperation with foreign companies.
