Iran cuts ties with Louvre

A top Iranian official announced on Monday that the country has cut all its ties and cooperation with the Louvre Museum in Paris after the latter refrained from holding up its end of the bargain in accordance with the understandings and agreements signed between the two sides, Associated Press reports.
In January, Iran had warned the Louvre to cut cultural ties with France if the Paris museum failed to organize an exhibition of Persian artefacts in Iran as agreed.
In February 2010, Tehran had severed ties with the British Museum in protest at repeated delays in lending the Islamic republic the world-famous Cyrus Cylinder, a fragmented 2,600-year old clay item bearing a cuneiform inscription
