Leo Tolstoy to strengthen Russian-Georgian relations

The Days of Tolstoy in Tbilisi, dedicated to the 160th anniversary of Tolstoy’s visit to the Georgian capital of Tiflis, will strengthen the cultural and, above-all, human ties between the two peoples, said the organizers of the Georgian-Russian video bridge, broadcast by RIA Novosti on Monday.

According to the president of the International Cultural and Educational Union Russian Club, Nikolay Sventitsky, the main theme of the Days of Tolstoy will be war and peace.

The festival's organizers intend to draw special attention towards preserving the unique culture of the Pneutomachians in the village of Groelovka, with the unique Dukhobor community and school named after Tolstoy, built at his own expense.
