Former head of Atambayev’s apparatus arrested

The former head of the ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambaev’s apparatus, Farid Niyazov, was detained, the office of the Pervomaisky district court in Bishkek informs.

It is reported that the adviser to Atambayev will remain in custody in a pre-trial detention center until October 8.

This decision was made due to the hostage-taking, RIA Novosti reports.

Recall that on Wednesday, August 7, security forces began an operation to detain Atambayev in his residence. The next day Atambayev surrendered. His detention was followed by arrests and interrogation of his supporters.
