Rouhani: no talks with U.S. until sanctions lifted

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Tehran will not talk to Washington until all sanctions imposed on Iran are lifted.

Rouhani said Iran was always ready to hold talks. "But first the U.S. should act by lifting all illegal, unjust and unfair sanctions imposed on Iran," Reuters cited the Iranian president as saying.

U.S. President Donald Trump said yesterday he would meet Iran’s president under the right circumstances to end a confrontation over Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal, but ruled out lifting economic sanctions to compensate for losses suffered by Iran.
