French Institute opens in Georgia

Tbilisi has officially opened the French Institute, Trend cites the French embassy in Georgia as saying.

The French Institute became the world agency for culture events on January 1, 2011.
Tbilisi has one of the first 13 French Institutes.

The French Institute is aimed at promoting French culture and developing French-Georgian cooperation. It will continue the work of the French Culture Center of Alexander Dumas and the culture and cooperation service of the French embassy. The activities include promotion of French language, trainings for French language teachers, French culture days, and cooperation in art.
French Ambassador to Georgia Eric Furnier was at the opening.
