Victoria Bogdanova: AGF organized 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship in Baku at the highest level

The Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation organized the World Championship at the highest level, Estonian gymnast Victoria Bogdanova said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza after performing in hoop competitions at the 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship in Baku.

"I really like the atmosphere of the Baku arena - it's great that a lot of people came to cheer for us, and the audience supports every gymnast. When I go out on the carpet and hear applause, I'm very happy," she said.

“This year I'm performing in this Baku hall for the third time, and competitions are always very well organized. AGF holsts the World Championship at the highest level,” Victoria Bogdanova stressed.

"Overall, the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation did a great job. They do everything on the highest level, any issue is immediately resolved, and there are no problems as a result," athlete concluded.

The 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships will last until Sept. 22. The first day of the competitions will see qualifications in an individual program, and gymnasts will perform in the exercises with a hoop and a ball. 

The Championships are the qualification competition for the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo in 2020. So, the first 16 individual gymnasts (max. two gymnasts per country) in the all-around ranking will qualify for the Games.

More than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries will compete for nine sets of medals. “Fairy Tales will come to life" is the motto of the championships.
