Georgia and Ukraine to open joint carriage construction

The Carriage Construction Company (Rustavi, Georgia) and the Kryukovsky Cariage Construction Factory (Kremenchug) plan to open a joint venture or maintenance and construction of railway carriages, the director of the Georgian company, Mamuka Dolidze, said, Interfax reports.


Dolidze said that a protocol has already been signed, and remaining legal issues will be settled in late April.


The Georgian official explained that the demand for high quality carriage maintenance is rising. This gives need for increased construction of railway carriages and tankers. The joint venture will serve the trains using the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
