Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIt’s amazing that this year’s world championship is held in Baku, the members of the Estonian group team, Vasilina Kuksova and Laurabel Cabrits, said in an interview with the Vestnik Kavkaza correspondent after the qualifying performances with five balls, three hoops and two pairs of clubs at the 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Baku.
“We are happy that the World Championship this year is held in Baku. The Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation always is very hospitable, and the Baku fans support us warmly. This helps us to perform well, ” team leader Vasilina Kuksova said.
“The arena is also very beautifully decorated, it’s nice to perform here, especially since this year decorations are in harmony with our style,” she added.
“Yes, we were very happy to come to Baku as we know that there is always a great organization of tournaments, amazing arena, and very hospitable people,” Laurabel Cabrits added.
This week, on September 16-22, the 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships is held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. The tournament is the qualification competition for the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo. More than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries are competing for nine sets of medals. The motto of the tournament is “Fairy tales will come to life”.
