Mammadyarov and Mnatsakanyan meet in New York

The meeting between Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Armenia's Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan was held in New York, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry wrote on Twitter.

The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Igor Popov (Russia), Stéphane Visconti (France) and Andrew Schofer (U.S.) and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk also took part in the meeting.

"At the meeting in NewYork the FMs of Azerbaijan and Armenia just exchanged views on the existing talks with understanding that OSCE MG co-chairs need to expand their efforts to bring peace to the region and respect to international norms, principles and orders in the region," spokesperson for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva wrote on Twitter.

She also noted that the meeting to define the current situation on the talks over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict again marked by an accident and killing of the Azerbaijani serviceman. "Azerbaijan by all means will follow the case and those responsible will be punished," Leyla Abdullayeva stressed.

On September 22, an Azerbaijani soldier of a frontline military unit, Ramin Abdulrahmanov, lost his way and was shot dead by Armenians in the territory between the positions of the parties.
