Medvedev orders establishment of gas exchange market

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has ordered the government to organize and maintain operation of a gas exchange market, RIA Novosti cites the Kremlin’s press-service.


The president ordered proposals on the fulfillment of investment programs, including the launch of new electricity facilities and the modernization of existing ones, to be presented by May 15. The government will prepare proposals on handing management of regional companies distributing electricity to private investors.


The executive authorities were recommended to propose members of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service to regional energy commissions by June 1. They were also recommended to improve security of fuel and energy facilities.
