The demise of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) will be an argument for increased defence spending of NATO members, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.

"The demise of the INF Treaty is an argument for increased defence spending," he said at the press conference following the meeting of NATO Defence Ministers.

"But as I have stressed again and again, we don’t want a new arms race, we don’t want a new Cold War," the NATO chief said.
