Mikail Jabbarov: Azerbaijan to boost economic activity significantly

Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov said that the ministry's most urgent goals are increasing economic activity, as well as encouraging new enterprises and jobs.

In this regard, the immediate objectives are accelerating economic growth, especially in the non-oil sector, improving the conditions for small and medium-sized businesses and ensuring free competition.

Speaking about the achievements of the Ministry of Economy, he pointed out that Azerbaijan has a low level of external debt and macroeconomic stability is ensured. "Over the past 10 months, there has been observed a tendency of switching from the informal economy to the formal one, that is, from shadow economy to its 'whitening'. We see this in new labor contracts, an increase in the number of jobs, tax and customs revenues and a number of other economic factors," Mikail Jabbarov said during live AzTV broadcast.
