Citizen of Turkey detained in Georgia for using fake currency

A Turkish citizen has been detained for smuggling and using fake currency, according to the Investigation Service of the Georgian Ministry of Finance.

The man has been accused of bringing fake 15,000 Turkish lira ($2,635) in from Turkey.

The investigation has also seized an additional 5,000 fake Turkish lira ($878), Agenda.ge reported.

The crime is punishable by seven to 10 years imprisonment.
