Two children die in Kazakhstan after getting trapped in ice

Two children died in Zhitiker village of Kazakhstan's Kostanay region after having been trapped in a two-meter ice water, the press service of the Kazakh emergency situations committee said.

Yesterday, three children were playing on the weak ice of the artificial water reservoir and fell in the ice water.

Police officers handed over the children to the ambulance for further hospitalization. Upon arrival to the hospital, the 6- and 5-year old children died of exposure. The 8-year-old child is in satisfactory condition.

A 65-year-old man, who tried to save the children out of the water, was also delivered to the hospital in a satisfactory condition, AKIpress reported.
