Charles Michel becomes EU Council President

Former Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel replaced Donald Tusk as head of the European Council.
The outgoing leader exchanged a handshake and a hug with the new Council President today at the ceremony before the two gave speeches, exchanging a golden bell used to start meetings, Euronews reported.
Michel will fully take up his duties on December 1, 2019.
