Belarus unveils desired price for Russian gas

Minsk wants the price for Russian gas to be equal to the price in the Smolensk Region of Russia plus transportation costs, Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Rumas said.

"We would like to purchase Russian gas at the same price as is in effect for Smolensk Oblast, the Russian region that is closest to us, plus transportation costs," BelTA cited Rumas as saying.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was holding talks with his Belarusian counterpart Sergei in Sochi.
