Russian president appoints deputy interior minister of Dagestan

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree on promoting high-ranking police authorities, Yuga.ru cites the press-service of the Kremlin as saying.


According to the law on police of February 7, 2011, Nikolai Ivanov, Andrei Kemenev, Victor Potapov and Alexander Trofimov were promoted to General-Majors. General-Major Arkady Gostev became a general-major of the interior serivces.


Medvedev appointed Colonel Nikolai Aksenov as head of the department of the Russian Interior Ministry in Amur Region, General-Major Arkady Gostev — deputy head of the main department of the Interior Ministry in Moscow, Colonel Valery Zhernov — deputy head of the main department of the ministry in the North Caucasian Federal District, General-Major Nikolai Ivanov — head of the Moscow subway police, General-Major Andrei Kamenev — deputy head of the ministry“s main department in the Central Federal District, General-Major Victor Potapov — head of the department in Kursk Region, General-Major Alexander Trofimov — Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs in Dagestan — Police Chief.
