The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed that the Russian military uniform will have a beret added, RIA Novosti reports.

Airborne and air forces will have blue berets, naval forces – black and land forces – a khaki, spokesman for the Defense Ministry, Captain Vladimir Drobyshevsky, said in Moscow on Friday.

Headgear will be expanded for a wider range of climate conditions. Servicemen may wear sheepskin hats, ear-flapped hats and service caps. The airborne and coastal forces wear woolen berets.

A high-ranking official of the ministry said that forces marching on Red Square on May 9 will wear a new ‘Cifra' uniform with berets.
