Bulgaria will start receiving natural gas supplies from Russia’s Gazprom via Turkey as of January 1 next year and would no longer use the route through Ukraine and Romania, Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said.

Petkova said that the new route via the Turkish Stream pipeline would be more economically viable and could result in about 5% decrease in natural gas prices on an annual basis, Reuters reported.
