Ukraine invites Azerbaijan to participate in construction of liquefied gas terminal

Ukraine is inviting Azerbaijan to join construction of a liquefied gas terminal (LNG), planned to be concluded in 2015, Igor Kirushkin, director of the department for oil, gas, peat, oil refining industry and alternate fuel sources of the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, said in Baku on Tuesday, Trend reports.


He clarified that Ukraine plans to receive a total of 5 billion cubic meters of liquefied gas by 2015. A terminal for liquefied gas is being constructed at Port Kulevi. It will be built within the framework of the AGRI project (Azerbaijani gas supplies to Romania).


Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Abbasov said that Ukraine expects to receive 2 billion cubic meters of liquefied gas from Azerbaijan by 2015.


A joint Azerbaijani-Ukrainian working has started a session on cooperation in energy sphere.
