Russia and Turkey discussed situation in Idlib

In Ankara, the delegations of Russia and Turkey discussed the situation in Syrian Idlib and steps to advance the political process in the country, the representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry informed.

“Ankara hosted three-hour negotiations between interdepartmental delegations led by Turkish and Russian Deputy Foreign Ministers Sedat Onal and Sergey Vershinin with the participation of Russian President’s Special Envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentyev. The representatives of the Foreign Ministries, military and intelligence agencies of the two countries also participated in the negotiations. During the meeting, the delegates discussed the situation in Syrian Idlib, as well as steps to advance the political process in Syria. The parties decided to continue negotiations next week, " Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, RIA Novosti reports.
