Today, ex-President of Azerbaijan Ayaz Mutalibov responded to another attempt of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, to attribute to him the words that the genocide in Khojaly was allegedly organized by the Azerbaijani opposition.

“Pashinyan is brazenly lying. I never said that Azerbaijanis are responsible for the events in Khojaly. I said differently: in connection with the actions of the opposition at that time, the internal situation in the country was tense,” media.az quotes the former politician as saying.

“The Armenian side constantly makes this incorrect quote of my words a topic of discussion. But such statements cause only sarcasm. Naturally, President Ilham Aliyev, at a meeting with Pashinyan, correctly answered him that I didn’t say such a thing, ”Ayaz Mutalibov concluded.
