Measles outbreak recorded in Kazakhstan's university

A measles outbreak has been registered in a university in Arkalyk, Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, the regional healthcare department said.

27 students were infected measles, two more people were diagnosed measles, Informburo.kz reported.

Sanitary doctors said that the virus was imported from other regions, because the disease appeared when students returned to the cityafter holidays from Turkestan, Almaty, Kyzylorda and Kostanay regions.

The epidemiological situation in Arkalyk is under the control, according to doctors.

According to the World Health Organization, measles is a very serious virus disease transmitted by airborne droplets.
