Iran and Egypt to cooperate in tourism

Iranian and Egyptian tourism companies signed a deal in Tehran on Monday, Chairman of the Iranian-Egyptian Trade Council Muhyeddin Al-Gandur said, Trend reports.

10,000 Iranians will visit Egypt every month. Iran will appoint an ambassador to Egypt in six months.

PressTV said that Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Akbar Salehi and his Egyptian counterpart Nabil Al-Arabi agreed on Iran appointing a new ambassador. A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ramin Mehmanparast, said that the information is false.

Iran and Egypt broke off ties in 1979, when Egypt and Israel signed a peace treaty. Cairo provided asylum for Iranian Shah Muammed Rza Pahlavi. They started restoring ties after the resignation of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
