Turkey to purchase more than 100 US helicopters

The American company Sikorsky Aircraft has won the tender to supply Turkey with 109 military utility helicopters, announced Turkish Defense Minister Vecdi Genyul.

The project is estimated worth 3.5 billion dollars and is designed for 10 years, RIA Novosti reports.

Helicopters will be used for military purposes, as well as in rescue operations, fire-fighting, humanitarian aid and transportation of patients.
