Christians celebrate Easter

Today Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, the major ecclesiastical holiday, the day of Jesus Christ’s resurrection. Divine services are held this day in all Orthodox churches.

The divine service in the main Cathedral of Russia, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, is served by the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill. The service was attended by President Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, and Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin.

The Russian President pays special attention to the Easter celebrations. He thinks that the holiday brings peace and happiness.
