France extends coronavirus state of emergency until July

On Friday night, the National Assembly voted on the first reading of the bill extending the state of emergency until 10th July, RTN Newspaper reports.

The bill, which contained clauses of progressive deconfinement from Monday, was approved by a show of hands voting. On Saturday, a joint committee will incorporate changes into the bill to ensure final approval.

The COVID-19 epidemic has killed 243 more people in the last 24 hours in France, bringing the total number of deaths from 1st March to 26,230 said the Directorate of Health in a statement this Friday. The pressure on health services continues to ease, with only 2,868 serious cases, out of a total of 22,724 people currently hospitalized, RTN Newspaper informs.
